DVC Member Reception - The first ever Getaway Days and Travel Expo will be host to a DVC Member Reception in Anaheim, CA. at the Disneyland Resort on May 24th - 26th, 2008. For the first time, Disney Vacation Club is showcasing their world of Member getaways at a special Disneyland Resort event. This event will take place at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. Work has begun at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is having it's accommodations expanded by more than 30%. This expansion plan also marks the debut of the first Disney Vacation Club resort in the Golden State. The plan calls for The Grand Californian to expand it's traditional hotel accommodations by 200 rooms, but they will also be adding 50 DVC villas. The villas are equivalent to a 2-bedroom hotel suite. This awesome project was designed by architect Peter Dominick who also designed the existing Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, and also Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. The new expanse will keep with California's Arts and Crafts style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Targeted completion date is late 2009.
