- Mickey takes a "Hawaiian Holiday" - you might think I am talking about Mickey's first visit to Hawaii back in 1937 while filming his animated short Hawaiian Holiday, but I am not. Mickey, along with his friends at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has finalized plans to purchase 21 acres of oceanfront property on Hawaii's island of Oahu. This land will become home to an expansive mixed-use Disney Resort. This resort is planned to open in 2011 with more than 800 units, including traditional hotel accommodations and Disney Vacation Club villas. Aloha!!
- Champion Stadium to be Baseball's New Home at Disney's Wide World of Sports - Champion Stadium is the new name for Disney's Wide World of Sports ballpark. The 9,500-seat retro ballpark will be host to the Atlanta Braves Spring Training. This will be the 11th season for the Braves at Disney's Wide World of Sports which begins February 27th with a game against the University of Georgia, then another game on February 29th against the LA Dodgers.

it's curtain up on the launch of a new attraction, new breakthrough
experiences... and a brand-new name. Disney-MGM Studios is now
Disney's Hollywood Studios™.
The name change reflects the Theme Park's celebration of the golden age of movies as well as the new entertainment that today's Hollywood has to offer in music, television, movies and theater. Among the new adventures coming to the Theme Park in 2008 -- a cutting-edge, fun-filled attraction, a live-action stage show and an interactive parade.
